UTS City campus is fortunate enough to be close to an assortment of sites and attractions. Located at the southern edge of the Sydney CBD, it is a gateway to many attractions, including Darling Harbour, Chinatown and the Ultimo cultural and education precinct (which includes the ABC and Powerhouse Museum).

      The Broadway Shopping Centre is conveniently located near Central Station, Sydney’s transport hub, with buses frequently passing the Centre. One can reach Broadway Shopping Centre either by catching a bus to George Street, Broadway, City Road, or Glebe Point Road, or one can take the ten minute walk down Broadway to the Centre.

      Broadway Shopping Centre is home to two major supermarkets, Coles and BI-LO, Rebel Sport, Dymocks Booksellers, Harris Farm Markets, and over 125 specialty stores. Other entertainment features of the Centre include a 500 seat 'Stars on Broadway' Food Court and a 12 screen Hoyts Multiplex Cinema.

      Broadway Shopping Centre also offers customers three hours of free parking, with entry via Bay Street, Glebe. A student discount rate is available.

      The Powerhouse Museum, Australia's largest and most popular museum, has a unique and diverse collection of objects that span history, science, technology and design.

      Central Station is the closest railway station to the Powerhouse Museum. From Central Station take the eastern exits to Railway Square/George Street. Turn left into George Street and then right into Harris Street. Walk down Harris Street for 5-10 minutes until you reach the Museum on your right.
      The LightRail operates from Central Station to Sydney’s inner west. Get off at the Paddy’s Market station and walk up the steps over the footbridge to the Powerhouse Museum.

      From the City, one could catch any bus travelling south on George Street. Get off at Hay Street and walk for 5-10 minutes past Paddy’s Markets, up the steps, and over the walkway to the Museum.

      Wentworth Park Sporting Complex is a multi-purpose facility situated in the heart of Sydney, and minutes from the Central Business District, Chinatown, and the tourist precincts of Darling Harbour.

      UTS holds some centrally-conducted exams at Wentworth Park Sporting Complex, Wentworth Park Road, Glebe ("Wentworth Park"). It is also the location of the IELTS Testing Centre. The IELTS testing location is Wentworth Park Sporting Complex, level three, Wentworth Park, Glebe (opposite 42 Wattle Street).

      The Wentworth Park is 15 minutes walk from the Tower, Building 1 on Broadway.

      1. From the UTS Tower, Building, 1 walk down Broadway (George Street).
      2. Turn right at Wattle Street (past Jones Street).
      3. Walk down Wattle Street, and keep walking until you see the Wentworth Park Complex on the left (opposite No. 42 Wattle Street).
      4. Walk up the driveway until you come to the sign that directs you to LTC.

      Public Transport:
      There is a light Rail stop (Wentworth Park) 100 metres from the complex. There is no regular bus service from Central to Wentworth Park.

      Parking:
      There is limited on street parking in the streets around Wentworth Park. There is no parking available for students in the Wentworth Park complex.

      UTS Library provides a mix of spaces to best meet your study and research needs. Levels 2 and 3 have seating to encourage collaboration and group discussion. Level 4 is a quiet floor and level 5 is silent, with noise kept to a minimum and students working individually. Individual and group study rooms are bookable.

      ABC Ultimo Centre

      The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (the ABC), is Australia’s national public broadcaster. The corporation provides television, radio, online, and mobile services. The ABC Ultimo Centre includes two digital state-of-the-art television production studios, radio studios, news studios and control rooms. Tours of the studios can be booked via the ABC website.

      Capitol Square is located beside the Capitol Theatre, and is part of the Capitol Theatre Heritage Precinct. Capitol Square contains a large modern building with a public car park, restaurants, pubs, and retail levels. It also features a 3.5 star Rydges Capitol Square Hotel.

      One can reach Capitol Square via the Light Rail, with a Station conveniently located on the corner of Hay and George Streets (Capitol Square Light Rail Station). Capitol Square also has an interchange stop for George Street buses, and the closest car park is the Capitol Square car park. Entry is via Pitt Street.

      Dixon Street, Haymarket, NSW 2000

      Sydney’s Chinatown is located in Haymarket, between Central Station and Darling Harbour. It is part of the local government area of the City of Sydney and is Australia's largest Chinatown. Chinatown is centred on Dixon Street, a pedestrian street mall recognised as the Sydney hub of Chinese commerce and cuisine.

      If driving, your most convenient car park would be the Entertainment car park with entrances from Quay Street in the south, or Pier Street in the north. Alternatively, one could park at the Goulburn Parking Station at the corner of Goulburn and Elizabeth Streets and walk west. If going by public transport, take any bus passing through George Street and get off at a bus stop close to Hay Street. If you are coming from the direction of Central Station, walk north along Belmore Park to Hay Street, and then walk west on Hay Street.

      In the heart of Darling Harbour, Tumbalong Park is five hectares of parkland which has been designed using native Australian foliage incorporated with fountains as an urban stream. The park features a large performance space and a covered stage, and is mostly used as a Sydney recreation and entertainment venue. A children’s playground including various adventure play and climbing apparatus is a popular spot for families and children throughout the year. A wide variety of cafes and restaurants are located around the park periphery.

      Darling Harbour is a 10-minute walk from the CBD, Pyrmont/Ultimo, and Haymarket. Convenient entrances to Darling Harbour's pedestrian bridges are located from Market, Druitt, Bathurst and Liverpool Streets in the City, and Union Street in Pyrmont. If one wishes to hop on the Metro LightRail and Monorail, Paddy’s Market Station is the best option for Tumbalong Park.

      Market City is located in the heart of Chinatown and is a vibrant shopping centre above Sydney Paddy’s Markets.
      Market City is a five minute walk from Central Station. Alighting from Central Train Station, take the Eddie Avenue exit, walk down to George Street, turn right on George Street, and then take the first left on to Ultimo Road. The majority of public buses travel along George Street with bus stops only a 1 minute walk from Market City. Market City is located directly opposite the Haymarket Stops for the Metro Monorail and LightRail.

      Accessible via Quay Street, Market City offers customers secure undercover parking with Market City Wilson Parking.

      Paddy's has held a central place in Sydney's history for over 150 years. Paddy's Markets, Sydney's biggest markets, have a wide variety of stalls; food, fashion, arts and crafts, gifts, and gadgets in a true market atmosphere. Paddy's Markets are located at Haymarket (near Chinatown) and Flemington. The markets cater for both locals and tourists and they claim to have over 1,000 stalls.

      The Haymarket Paddy's Markets are a five minute walk from Central Station. The Sydney Explorer bus stops right outside the door, as does the Metro LightRail and Monorail at Haymarket Station. Parking is available in Wilson Parking Station off Quay Street, and in the Entertainment Centre.
